Shumard Oak Farmstead

For several years we researched the characteristics of
various cattle in search of a breed which met our
requirements. We were pleasantly surprised when we
discovered that American British White Park (ABWP) cattle
would not only meet but exceed our expectations.

Our initial requirements were:
* Docile temperament,
* Calving ease, and
* Naurally polled.

As a bonus we found out that ABWP cattle also posses the
following characteristics:
* Good milking and mothering ability,
* Strong growth rates,
* Long lived,
* Natural foragers,
* Excellent disease resistance, and
* High fertility rates.

In general, ABWP cattle are a very low maintenance breed.

The goal at Shumard Oak Farmstead is to breed quiet,
muscular, and functional ABWP cattle and to actively promote
the qualities which this breed of cattle have to offer.
